Dayton Ohio Red Knights Chapter 13

Received Charter Membership on December 18, 2007

Jeremy Smith and I, Fred Wilson, both have a hard core sickness for the love of motorcycles and anything that has to do with motorcycles to include riding. Jeremy started doing research on a riding club in Ohio that was not bike specific and was user friendly for members to belong to. He came across the Red Knights and realized it would be a perfect fit for him and all future members. I always wanted to organize a poker run for the simple fact of getting a lot of riders together showing off their bikes while raising money. This all came together when I met one of the strongest, bravest individuals I had ever had the privilege of meeting. His name is Chris Bentlage. Chris was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident on August 6th 2005 and has since, with great help from family and friends, accomplished multiple tasks and goals to include sitting on the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico as a certified handicapped diver exactly 365 days after he lost the use of his legs. Jeremy and I put our ideas together and the rest is history. We both decided that our first order of business every year, after the Dayton chapter is formed, would be a poker run in the name of Chris Bentlage and all proceeds would be donated to Chris and his family.
